DR. MAYSOON ABDELMAJEED

Clinical Director / General Dentist / DSD Team Member

Dr. Maysoon Abdelmajeed is the Clinical Director and lead General Dentist at Just White Dental Clinic. Dr. Maysoon graduated from Manchester University in 2006, then obtained a further post-graduate qualification in 2008 by becoming a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She continues to serve the Royal College of Surgeons of England as an examiner for the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties. Her love for teaching made her the youngest clinical teaching fellow at Manchester University in 2008, where she taught the undergraduate dental students.

Dr. Maysoon has a particular interest in minimally invasive aesthetic dentistry and short-term orthodontics, and is certified in providing both Inman Aligner and Six Months Smiles treatments. She is a member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) and serves on its committee. Amongst many other courses, Dr. Maysoon has completed a one-year course in Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry in London and is certified in performing laser dentistry by the British Institute of Laser Dentistry (BILD). Dr. Maysoon has 12 years of experience studying and working in the UK before moving to Dubai.

CHARITY

In May 2009, Dr. Maysoon went to Tanzania on a voluntary dental charity trip with Bridge2aid, to provide dental emergency services to the under-privileged.

The majority of the patients the team saw had been suffering from dental disease for months and years and had to travel for days in very hot dusty conditions to reach the clinic for treatment.

Dr. Maysoon and the team also taught local Clinical Officers how to safely deliver oral health care to the rural communities, which makes up over 80% of the population. The philosophy is that these Clinical Officers will then teach their colleagues and so on and the message will be passed on to benefit the wider community.

BACD Charity Committee

As a member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) Charity Committee, Maysoon has helped in organizing various charity social events where thousands of pounds have been raised for Bridge2aid. She was also involved in the BACD Whitening Drive, where the patients contributed an amount of money to charity and received teeth whitening treatment in return, hence giving her patients and the under-privileged something to smile about!
